Cadventure appoints Mike Clarke to head its new Project Information Services team
We have appointed Mike Clarke to head up our new Project Information Services Team, bringing with him over 30 years of global experience in supporting clients with their information management needs.
With the construction industry’s rapidly growing need for more effective and integrated project information management and the drive to go digital, more companies are understanding the importance not just of digital tools, but the need to deploy good processes and well-trained teams to ensure that their asset information is effectively and efficiently managed.
That’s why we specialise in working with these organisations to identify the right solution for better information management and delivery. As our new Project Information Management Services Director, Mike will lead in this area and work with clients to support their need to digitise asset information management.
Mike started work as a Junior Technician at Sir William Halcrow and Partners (now Jacobs) in 1987 – during his time there Mike also studied Civil Engineering and was one of the first people to begin using CAD systems such as GDS, AutoCAD and MicroStation. Mike worked on a diverse set of projects for Halcrow, including the M40 Motorway, the Belize City Infrastructure Project, small scale irrigation projects in Ghana, the Second Severn Crossing, and the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (HS1). Living and working on projects in Belize, Ghana and the UK enabled Mike to gain significant experience with a diverse set of Clients, information delivery requirements and software technologies.
After which Mike joined Scott Wilson Railways as CAD Development Manager in the late 1990’s, where he managed the CAD Development Unit and built a strong team of 12 CADD and Information specialists. During this time, he worked on major schemes such as the Lok Ma Chau Spur line tender (Hong Kong), Gautrain (South Africa) the East London Line (UK) and the West Coast Route Modernisation, where he introduced ProjectWise to both Scott Wilson and Network Rail.
Later Mike became Scott Wilson’s Global CAD Manager where he was responsible for the advancement of global CAD standards, ProjectWise adoption and development of both Autodesk and Bentley contracts. In 2011 Mike began working on the multi award winning Stockholm Bypass where he was responsible for the development of the project information requirements plan and the mobilisation and maintenance of the Client’s Project CDE – ProjectWise.
After four years working with Trafikverket in Sweden, Mike moved to the Digital Project Delivery as a Technical Director. Working in Europe, the USA and Australia Mike was responsible for the implementation of the URS global ProjectWise solution. Late in 2014 the Scott Wilson URS Group was acquired by AECOM where Mike was given responsibility for the advancement of ProjectWise across the EMEA business. In 2018 Mike and his team won the Global Bentley Year In Infrastructure Award in the Project Delivery category for their work in developing the strategic direction for ProjectWise Project Insights.
At Cadventure Mike will take on the responsibility of delivering Project Information Management Professional Services for our clients and commented: “It’s important that people manage project information in the most effective way. We will be implementing bespoke information management processes, Common Data Environment (CDE) technologies and offering hands-on training that will improve project outcomes for those involved with the design, construction, and operation of infrastructure assets.”
