Identify Elements Automatically
The Identify Elements Automatically functionality
that was introduced in MicroStation V8 was introduced
to reduce the number of clicks required for functions
such as deletion of elements. By enabling elements
to be “automatically” highlighted when
the cursor is passed over them, this means that only
a single click is required to accept deletion of the
element that is highlighted. In earlier versions of
V8, this was introduced as a function of AccuSnap,
and so could only be activated when AccuSnap was enabled.

In MicroStation V8 XM Edition,
while this functionality is still controlled
by the AccuSnap settings, there is no longer
a requirement for AccuSnap to be enabled for
elements to be identified automatically. This
means that if you temporarily toggle AccuSnap
off, Identify Elements Automatically will still
work!
