Cycling Through Coincident Elements
The introduction of the “Identify Elements
Automatically” AccuSnap setting has meant that
for some operations, such as deletion, only a single
click is required to accept the element that is highlighted.
The problem comes, however, when you have more than
one element that is coincident and the wrong one is
automatically identified! One way to get round this
is to use the tentative snap button to tentatively
select the elements one by one until the correct one
is highlighted. In MicroStation V8 XM Edition, you
can overcome this by pressing the tab key instead.
By repeatedly pressing it, MicroStation cycles through
each element in turn. Once the right one is highlighted,
you can just accept with a data point. It’s
also handy when you’re doing this to have Pop-up
Info enabled in your AccuSnap settings which then
indicates which element you’re selecting
